The purpose of the GEYI Strategy is to ensure planning and implementation of municipal projects and programs, promote gender equality and youth inclusion. The GEYI strategy therefore has been developed to: 1) provide strategies through which GEYI could be integrated in the planning and implementation of developed activities to promote economic empowerment of women and youth; 2) ensure proper consideration of gender equality and youth inclusion, at all stages and in all spheres and activities; and 3) ensure GEYI issues are integrated in development planning and activities from the onset and continue after the project has ended.
